I am starting my World Cycling Tour on a Indoor Smart Bike Trainer on 6. July 2024 and will update my progress here daily on this site.

I have planned such a journey for many years, but for some reason it was not possible to finalize my dream.
Modern equipment and software makes it possible to ride such a World Tour from home and I will not miss the chance to do so 🙂
After some problems with software, I was forced to stop my world tour.
I am testing at the moment two software packages, Golden Cheetha and BKOOL,
which I finally got working with my Strava generated routes…
Both apps are fantastic … I am using
at the moment, because it allows me to create 3D routes myself and riding along these 3D routes is much more fun and entertaining.
I am set now and I am continuing my ride around the globe.

Why cycling indoors ?
Indoor cycling has many benefits compared to outdoor cycling:

- Absolutely Safe, NO dangerous traffic
- NO crazy scrupulous drivers (have a good share of this one)
- I was once run over by a drunkard driver, which left me with a paralyzed right arm
- NO bad weather
- NO camping, sleep every day in a fresh cozy bed
- NO carrying of food, water, clothing, camping gear, spare parts…
- NO bike maintenance and searching for spare parts
- Riding or pausing at any time
- NO regulations, permits, Visas …
- No traveling costs and problems
- NO dogs
- NO bandits (have my share of this one)
